Testimonials
Our three boys attended Blue Heron School under Jordy’s tutelage and directorship. Her dedication and presence during a child’s learning experience is truly an amazing thing to witness. Her patience is unending and her calm demeanor helps children regulate and navigate learning academically as well as socially. Following the Montessori methods, Jordy gives children the space and time needed to guide their own learning while they choose interests, learn skills and gain confidence and independence as growing little humans. We are forever grateful for the early childhood education experience our children had under Jordy’s guidance. The Children’s Homestead has an excellent leader in Jordy and will provide such a special experience for so many children and families. - Katie Nason
We couldn’t have asked for a better first teacher for our child. Starting school is such a big milestone, and it sets the tone for how your child will love school. Jordy is genuinely kind and patient. She has an incredible ability to tune in to what each child needs — whether that’s extra encouragement, a little space away from the group, or a little more challenging work. She made sure he felt seen and safe through all the big feelings. He now looks forward to going to school and learning new things. We are so grateful for everything, Jordy, and will definitely miss you. - Stephanie Hachez
Cormorant Garamond is a classic font with a modern twist. It's easy to read on screens of every shape and size, and perfect for long blocks of text.
As an educator, Jordy exhibits endless patience, a calm demeanor, and radiates a sense of responsibility that allows children to become independent thinkers and capable members of the school community. Jordy always treated the children, and the parents, with the utmost respect and was able to communicate in a very diplomatic way. - Amanda Gillen
Jordy is amazing. My daughter has been in her class the last 3 years and loves going to school. As a parent, the thing I most appreciate about Jordy is her whole child approach. My child's confidence, peer interactions, interactions with the natural world and her emotional well being are all just as important as learning letters and numbers. Jordy understands each child is on their own journey, and the lack of pressure on the child to perform or "keep up" is such a blessing. Jordy understands these young people are entire people, not just academic output machines. My child views learning as a process and not a competition, and I cant imagine a better way for her to launch into her educational journey. - Rebecca Veltri
